Architectural mesh façades: Caja Magica tennis center, Madrid
GKD uses a total of 23,000 m² of architectural mesh to clad the façades of the famous tennis center in Spain.
GKD developed a custom version of its Escale 10.5 x 1.2 stainless steel spiral mesh in collaboration with renowned French architect Dominique Perrault specifically for the HQ of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation. The result? A visually seamless building façade, made up of 86 woven mesh elements each measuring 23 x 7 meters.
When cladding the façade of the indoor courts, the decision was taken to use Escale 7x1 stainless steel mesh with various spiral sizes. The precisely defined light and air transmission of the spiral mesh protects both players and visitors from driving rain and drafts.
