Mediamesh Awards
1) The success story continues: iF Award for Mediamesh®
For over fifty years now, the iF Industrial Forum Design has annually been staging one of the most important design competitions in pursuit of the very best in the sectors communications, industrial and product designs. The winner this year: Mediamesh® - the next-generation media façade developed by GKD - Gebr. Kufferath AG and ag4 media facade. The unique concept of high-luminescence LED profiles woven into stainless steel wire mesh result in the only system worldwide that guarantees a truly brilliant image quality together with a permanent integration into the architecture thanks to its transparency.
2) GKD and Ag4 receive the “Prize of Prizes” for Mediamesh®

The Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany is the country‘s highest distinction in the field of design. A product is permitted to enter the competition only if it has already been awarded a national or international design prize. The products must also be well established on the market and have demonstrated their exceptional features through their quality and their contribution to changing our culture in daily life. Nominations are made by the Ministries and Senators for Trade and Industry of the Federal States or by institutions appointed by them. Out of 1240 nominated entries, the independent jury selected 25 products and services to receive the German Design Award, 5 of whom received the gold and 20 received the silver awards. The award ceremony took place on February 13, 2009 in the course of the Ambiente in Frankfurt. Ralf Müller from ag4 and Ingo Kufferath from GKD received the silver award at the ceremony
3) Mediamesh® and Illumesh® win the red dot design award 2008.

Every year, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen presents this internationally renowned award in what ranks as one of the world's greatest design competitions. In expert circles the award counts as a prestigious seal of quality. Among the winning products this year were Mediamesh® and Illumesh® in the category product design- Architecture and Interior Design. Both award-winning stainless steel mesh systems with integrated LEDs were developed by GKD in collaboration with the company ag4.
4) GKD and ag4 win renowned German Steel Inovation award
GKD and ag4 have received the German Steel Innovation Award 2006. Innovative product development MEDIAMESH® - a stainless steel wire mesh with interwoven LED-profiles - excelled in the category "Steel Design". GKD has been awarded the second time since 1994.
5) Mediamesh® gets rewarded by Architecural Records.
Mediamesh® gets rewarded by Architectural Records in its Product Report 2006 which present the year's most interesting and innovative new building products available to architects, designers, and specifiers. Mediamesh® received this award in the category "Metal, Wood, Plastic and composites".
The jury awards in its report products that respond to a need in the marketplace; that aren't harmful to the end user or the environment; and that display a certain level of detailing and craftsmanship. An added bonus is when the product is produced by a reliable manufacturer interested in establishing a long-term relationship with the specifier.
