Groundbreaking process solutions with innovative mesh constructions
Economical to produce, universally applicable, high in resilience and low in weight: technical textiles and nonwovens offer a convincing solution to a wide range of challenges. But the ongoing development of new markets also means increasing demands on production processes. Manufacturers, plant engineers and component suppliers are constantly tasked with achieving greater production capacities, more complex processes, and higher speeds. Then there is the growing importance of ecologically sustainable processes and eco-friendly products. These demands for "Better! Faster! Cheaper!" form the backdrop for GKD – Gebr. Kufferath AG's presentation of ground-breaking process solutions at the leading trade show for technical textiles and nonwovens, the Techtextil in Frankfurt. GKD is a proven expert for custom-developed technical meshes and process belt engineering, and has been regularly setting standards for decades now. The focus of its presence at the Frankfurt show will be on its all-round range of consulting, development and production competencies for the nonwovens industry. With new weave types, mesh finishes and process belt solutions, this specialist for woven meshes of metal and other materials will be showing what interesting possibilities it can offer for improving the efficiency of existing equipment and procedures. The exhibition at Frankfurt will be rounded off with samples of sophisticated technical meshes for architectural applications.
Booming demand for functional fibres and surfaces to replace, reinforce or expand the properties of conventional materials is confronting plant engineers, component suppliers and product manufacturers with ever greater challenges. In addition, rising standards of living and demographic change are boosting global demand and influencing product requirements. A new focus is emerging on products for nursing and hospitals. In view of the global threat of multi-resistant germs in hospitals and healthcare facilities, more eyes are being turned towards disposable textiles and nonwovens as the most promising solution to increasing hygiene requirements.
Thanks to its competence in integrated solutions, GKD-SolidWEAVE is optimally equipped to respond to these new tasks and to the rising demand for efficient filtration of raw materials like polymers or cellulose. It offers woven hi-tech constructions specifically designed to support demanding filtration tasks in nonwovens production.
